The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has increased fuel prices for the October to November 2026 cycle, raising the cost of petrol by KSh12.93 per litre, diesel by KSh9.90 and kerosene by KSh28.49.
Under the new prices, a litre of Super Petrol will retail at KSh226.96 in Nairobi, while diesel will cost KSh227.76 and kerosene KSh219.87.
The increase comes amid rising international oil prices and heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

Speaking on Wednesday, October 14, EPRA Director General Edward Mwirigi Kinyua attributed the price increases to rising international petroleum product prices, increased market demand and the government's decision not to implement fuel price stabilisation during the current pricing cycle.
Kinyua said September had been the worst month since the conflict began, noting that international super petrol prices had risen to USD 1,300 per metric tonne from approximately USD 600.
Earlier this week, crude oil prices surged to USD 106 per barrel before easing.
To cushion consumers, the government has retained a reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on petroleum products from 16 per cent to 8 per cent until January 14, 2027.
Kinyua added that the government would continue strengthening the Petroleum Development Levy Fund to create room for future price stabilisation should international prices rise further.

EPRA also warned petrol stations against selling adulterated fuel, saying the increase in kerosene prices would narrow the price gap between kerosene and other motor fuels, discouraging the practice.
The authority noted that fuel adulteration could have serious consequences, particularly in the public transport sector.
On long-term solutions, Kinyua expressed optimism that the proposed Dangote oil refinery project in Lamu could help ease the burden of high fuel prices once completed.

The project is expected to reduce Kenya's vulnerability to global oil market shocks and strengthen the country's energy security.
The latest review is likely to increase transport and operating costs, potentially putting further pressure on households and businesses already grappling with the high cost of living
