Al Merriekh have officially been crowned champions after the Sudanese Football Association’s Appeals Committee ruled in their favour over the derby against Al Hilal.
The committee awarded Al Merriekh a 2-0 victory and the three points, changing the final standings of the mini league.

As a result, Al Hilal lose the league title, while Al Merriekh are officially confirmed as the 2025/26 champions.
This is why Al Hilal have lost the Sudanese Premier League title.
The league rules in Sudan allow a team to use only five foreign players in a match.
In the derby, Al Merriekh used five foreign players, while Al Hilal used eight.
Al Merriekh reported the matter and appealed the result.
The Appeals Committee agreed with them, awarded Al Merriekh a 2-0 win and the three points.
That changed the final league standings.
Al Hilal are no longer the champions, and the title must now be handed over to Al Merriekh with immediate effect.
Darko Nović’s men are now officially the 2025/26 Sudanese Premier League champions, winning the club’s 36th league title.
